Bollywood actor Irfan Khan passed away at Kokila Bhan Dhirobh Ambani Hospital in Mumbai on Wednesday.
The actor was admitted to the hospital on the evening of April 28 and was admitted to the ICU due to a colon infection. He was 54 years old. Irfan Khan was survived by his wife Sotpa Sikdar and two sons Babli Khan and Ian Khan.
The actor’s mother Syeda Begum breathed her last on Saturday in Jaipur where he lived.
However, due to the ongoing lockdown, the actor could not physically attend his mother’s last rites and allegedly paid his last respects through video conferencing.
Irfan Khan last saw Homi Adjania’s comedy film in English medium, the last Bollywood film to be released before COVID-19 was forced to close cinema halls completely.
He was diagnosed with a neuroendocrine tumor in March 2018 and a few days later, he left for London for treatment. He returned to India in February 2019 and filmed the English medium during his short visit. A few months later, he left for London to continue his treatment and returned to India in September 2019 after his surgery.
Bollywood actors also condoled over his death.
