PESHAWAR: For the first time in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a website and a mobile app have been launched to register complaints of violence against women, children and transgender people.

In this app, a woman who is a victim of violence can go to her home for help.

Speaking to News ChanelĀ  in this regard, Chairperson Women Protection Wing Wafa Wazir said that through the app, women, children and transgender people can now report incidents of violence from anywhere, while the staff of Women Protection Wing can report complaints to the complainant within an hour. The matter will be referred to the concerned authorities.

He said the Women Protection Wing has a special team to liaise with legal experts, psychologists, police and the FIA. All agencies will be notified as soon as the complaint is registered on the app.

Earlier, women had to approach various departments to register their grievances. He said that due to Corona virus lockdown, most of the women were facing difficulties in registering issues. The Women Protection Wing app will provide a platform for consumers to register complaints while their identities will be kept confidential.
