Addressing a press conference in Karachi with Air Marshal Arshad Malik, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), Ghulam Sarwar Khan said that engineers of Civil Aviation (CAA) and PIA were also involved. Investigating on their own, the accident will be investigated in a transparent manner as soon as possible.
The Federal Minister of Aviation said that if the investigation report of the accident does not come, then we and the institutions are also weak. If there is additional construction in the airport area, action will be taken against Tawan.
Ghulam Sarwar Khan said that on the directive of the Prime Minister, the relief amount has been increased from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 10 lakh while the insurance amount will be in addition to that. He also directed to survey the losses of assets of the local population. Will be repaired and the damage caused to the population will be remedied.
He said that 1500 acres of land belonged to aviation which was seized, all of them were occupied during the previous governments, high rise buildings near the airport are prohibited, they will also be given notices on disqualification of CAA.
‘As the head of the institution, I will hold the responsible person accountable’
On the occasion, PIA Air Marshal Arshad Malik said that as the head of the agency, he would hold the person responsible for the plane crash accountable. The information required for the investigation of the crash would be provided. The black box has been handed over to the investigation team.
Air Marshal Arshad Malik said that funeral prayers of PIA martyrs would be offered in absentia in PIA Jama Masjid. The bodies of 21 people have been handed over to their heirs while DNA of the rest is being collected.
He said that an accident board team has been formed by the federal government, the families of the passengers who died in the plane crash have been contacted, there is no cure for the accident, our airport is dedicated to the hotel and Qasrnaz family.
