Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar announces to write a play based on Islamic history
Well known playwright and author Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar has announced to write a play based on Islamic history.
Talking to private TV, Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar said that he was working on a historical project in the style of Turkish drama Ertugrul.
“It’s a great opportunity to present our new age of saints we don’t have the foggiest idea,” he said.
Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar said that he has decided to write a serial on the great Islamic hero for which he is doing research and reading several books while he will also start writing a play this week.
The playwright said that he will once again take the cast of his urban drama ‘Mere Paas Tum Ho’ and actor Humayun Saeed will play the lead role in the play while Nadeem Baig will be the director of the play.
He said that he had been asking Humayun Saeed to do such a project for the last 12 years but due to limited resources he could not turn his dream into reality.
Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar declined to give further details of the serial, saying that it would be of international standard and would contain all the facts.
He said he would soon hold a joint press conference with his team to formally announce the project.
On the occasion, Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar also praised the Ertugrul drama and encouraged its cast, saying that Ertugrul was a hero of Muslims, whether the serial was made in Turkey or in any other country, but the hero does not change.
It should be noted that the Turkish drama Ertugrul, which was aired on state-run PTV, has reached the heights of fame in Pakistan.
