Prime Minister Imran Khan’s Special Assistant for Information Firdous Ashiq Awan has been removed from his post and will be replaced by Lieutenant General (retd) Asim Saleem Bajwa.
Asim Saleem Bajwa is currently the Chairman of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Authority.
In this regard, Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry said that Shibli Faraz, Leader of the House in the Senate has been made Minister for Information and Broadcasting while former Pakistan Army Spokesman Lieutenant General (retd) Asim Saleem Bajwa has been made Special Assistant for Information.
Fawad Chaudhry said that the team consisting of these two will do its best.
It may be recalled that after the formation of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government, Fawad Chaudhry was given the portfolio of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
Fawad Chaudhry had also criticized the appointment of Firdous Ashiq Awan and said that it was not right to replace the elected people with the unelected ones.
