ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry has said that there is no need for a sighting committee to see the moon.
Fawad Chaudhry and Ruwit Hilal Committee have been at loggerheads over the sighting of the moon and Fawad Chaudhry has been of the view that the services of science should also be sought in the sighting of the moon.
The Ministry of Science and Technology has also prepared a lunar calendar in this regard, according to which it had already said that the first Ramadan across the country will be on April 25.

The Central and Zonal Ruwit Hilal Committees met yesterday to observe the month of Ramadan, but no evidence of moon sighting was received.
Reacting to this, Federal Minister Fawad Chaudhry said in a statement that in principle, there is no need to gather the Ruwit Hilal Committee and the people every time to see the moon because the moon should not change its orbit at the request of anyone.
The Federal Minister said that we have released the calendar which has been correct, the calendar is trusted in Turkey, Malaysia, Brunei and we have to do the same.
Fawad Chaudhry also said in a tweet that the Ministry of Science had released the calendar a year ago and said that the next Ramadan would be on Saturday, April 25.
