PTV and Parliament attack case, PM’s request to change his lawyer Babar Awan
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has filed a petition in the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) seeking replacement of his lawyer Babar Awan in the ongoing Pakistan Television (PTV) and Parliament attack case. The court heard the PTV and Parliament attack case. Imran Khan’s lawyer Babar Awan was replaced by his assistant in the court and during the hearing, Prime Minister Imran Khan requested to change his lawyer Babar Awan. Khan’s advisers have been appointed, so time should be given to appoint a new lawyer. The court granted the accused’s request for respite to change their lawyer and adjourned the hearing of the case till June 29. Imran Khan has appointed Adviser for Parliamentary Affairs, whose rank is equivalent to that of a Federal Minister. During the sit-in, there was a commotion and the workers stormed PTV and Parliament. Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi and others have been nominated. The President enjoys presidential immunity in these cases while Babar Awan has been appearing in court on behalf of the Prime Minister.
