Riyadh: Saudi Minister of Hajj Dr. Saleh bin Bintan telephoned Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Pir Noorul Haq Qadri and formally informed him of the decision regarding Hajj.
According to a spokesman for religious affairs, the Saudi government has apologized for hosting foreign pilgrims due to the Corona epidemic. This year, only Saudi citizens and residents will perform the Hajj.
Spokesman for Religious Affairs Imran Siddiqui said that in this regard, the Ministry of Religious Affairs will formulate procedures for the refund of Hajj pilgrims. He said that Pakistani Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, diplomatic staff, and Pakistan Hajj Directorate would represent Pakistan in Hajj this year.
On the other hand, the Saudi Ministry said in a statement that given the increasing number of plague victims globally, it has been decided that this time only people belonging to different nationalities already residing in Saudi Arabia will perform Hajj. Besides, a limited number of Saudi citizens will be able to perform the Hajj.
