Schools may not open for 6 months: Sindh Education Minister

KARACHI: Sindh Education Minister Saeed Ghani has said that schools may not be open for another six months due to corona virus so they are going to announce online education system in a few days.

Addressing a press conference in Karachi, Ghani said that schools in Sindh have not been reopened since June 1 and a new date would be announced later.

“After the crown infection, we presently need to change our way of life, yet we are chipping away at various models to keep teaching the kids, as schools may not open for a half year, so we are intellectually arranged,” he said.
The Education Minister said that schools cannot be kept closed, the education of children has to be taken care of, therefore an online education system is going to be announced in a few days.

Regarding the promotion of children without examinations, Saeed Ghani said that Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood himself was saying that there were some problems in promoting matric and inter students as according to the rules of the boards, they could not be promoted without examinations. The reason is that a committee has been formed so that all the issues regarding the students can be resolved.

The Sindh Education Minister said that we do not want the students to face legal complications in the future that is why it has been decided to promote the students of class I to VIII but there are problems in promoting them as well.

It may be recalled that a meeting of the National Coordinating Committee on Corona Virus was held recently under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Imran Khan in which it was decided to end the lockdown in phases from May 9 and also close educational institutions till July 15.
