A preliminary investigation report has been prepared into the crash of a Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) plane in Karachi.
According to sources, a preliminary report of the plane crash was given to the aviation authorities in which it was revealed that the plane also collided with birds after landing gear was jammed.
According to the report, when the landing gear malfunctioned, the pilot brought the plane down for landing. During this time, more than one bird collided with the ill-fated plane, meanwhile both engines of the plane were partially shut down.
Sources said that according to the report, due to low power from the engines, the altitude of the plane became very low and soon the plane could not maintain its altitude. On this occasion, the pilot also called for ‘May Day’.
According to the report, the plane collided with houses in a populated area before reaching the runway. He was gliding when the plane hit the upper floor of the houses.
It may be recalled that the national airline flight PK8303 crashed while landing and the plane crashed at 2:37 a.m. while 98 people including 7 crew members were on board.
Several people are feared dead and injured as a result of the accident.
