Left-arm fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi says he made a mistake by training with fellow cricketers on the ground during the global epidemic of coronavirus, but now everyone is following the SOOPs.
Shaheen Shah Afridi has represented Pakistan in 8 Tests, 19 ODIs and 12 T20I matches. As a permanent part of all three formats, Shaheen Shah Afridi has now been included in the A category of the Central Contract.
Shaheen Shah Afridi plays for the Lahore Qalandars, the most popular and dynamic franchise in the Pakistan Super League, and answered media questions on a video link.
During the lockdown caused by Code 19, some players of the Pakistan cricket team were seen going to the grounds and training. Among them fast bowler Shaheen Afridi was training along with other teammates Fakhr Zaman, Imran Khan Sr. and Naseem Shah. After which the Pakistan Cricket Board had to take action and they asked the cricketers to strictly follow the precautionary SOPs and guidelines.
Shaheen Shah Afridi said that cricket had not been played for a long time, he had been away from cricket for two months, it seemed that it was too late to leave cricket, so he went to the field to play which was a mistake. And later we strictly followed the things that the PCB told us.
He said that now they are not training together and SOPs are following.
Fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi said that the conditions in England have always been difficult, this time too it will be difficult but now if we are leaving ahead of time then we will have a chance to come to Rodham. The bowling squad is not completely young and inexperienced. Wahab Yaz, Mohammad Abbas, Sohail Khan and Imran Khan Sr. are also in the squad. Our bowling coaches are also experienced. Our bowling squad will perform well.
Shaheen Shah Afridi said that Wahab Riaz is an experienced and senior bowler. He has joined the team again. His arrival will be beneficial and there will be an opportunity to learn.
Shaheen Afridi says that he has been working hard from the beginning but did not think that he would be a part of all three formats so soon. I remember my bowling was good in my last match in England during the World Cup. I am still going to England, so now my target is to perform well in Test cricket, the focus is on good performances in Test cricket, like Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis put their weight in the test and took a lot of wickets.
Shaheen Shah Afridi’s style of celebrating is also very popular. He says that now we have to follow the rules made due to Code 19 in all cases. During the PSL, we have played matches without crowds. Let the crowd sit at home and enjoy cricket. I will still adopt my celebration style.
