ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant for Accountability Shehzad Akbar has said that PML-N has given a subsidy of Rs 29 billion on sugar in five years out of which only Shahid Khaqan has given a subsidy of Rs 20 billion.
During a press conference in Islamabad, Special Assistant for Accountability Shehzad Akbar said that as soon as the Sugar Inquiry Report was presented in the Cabinet, the report looked at the audit of the sugar industry, all the stolen and hidden items in the sugar production Highlights, everything from buying sugarcane to making sugar and recovery issues are included in the report. A study was done on 5 years subsidy on export subsidy.
Shehzad Akbar said that 29 billion subsidy was given out of which 2.4 billion subsidy was given to Punjab while 26.6 billion subsidy was given by PML-N, only Shahid Khaqan Abbasi gave 20 billion subsidy, Shahid Khaqan deserves himself.
Azim says that page 62 of the report of the commission on Shahid Haqan’s subsidy says that on March 28, 2017, a case of export of 400,000 metric tons comes up. In collaboration with the association, a subsidy of Rs 20 billion was given in a hurry. If the rules were followed, Rs 7 billion would have been saved while Shahid Khaqan Abbasi could not be satisfied on the issue of subsidy.
