Supreme Court issues interim order in Corona suo motu notice

The Supreme Court in its interim order in the Coronavirus suo motu notice case has stated that the federation has executive powers under the constitution so the provinces should ensure implementation while respecting the federal powers. The letter said that Pakistan is a country infected with the corona virus. The number of corona patients is increasing day by day, there have been many deaths due to coronavirus and there are many certified patients. There is an additional burden.

The government has taken immediate steps to combat the virus. The interim order says that Corona has put Pakistan’s struggling economy in further struggle. The people have a fundamental right to be provided a clean and healthy environment by the government. Under the constitution, the provinces have executive powers.

Under the constitution, the provinces are bound to implement the decisions of the federation. The provinces must ensure the implementation while respecting the federal powers. The NDMA, the federal and provincial governments, Gilgit-Baltistan and Islamabad should report on the progress made against the corona virus.
