There will be no compromise on the health and safety of the players during the tour of England, PCB said

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has assured the players that no compromise will be made on the health and safety of the players during the tour of England while the cricketers will also have the option to withdraw from the tour.

 Pakistan Cricket Board Chief Executive Wasim Khan, Director International Zakir Khan, Head Coach and Chief Selector Misbah-ul-Haq and Head of Medical Department Dr Sohail Saleem briefed the cricketers today.
An online briefing on the tour assured the players that no compromise would be made on their health and safety.

The PCB has also planned to start preparations for the tour of England and training sessions are being planned in Lahore in early June as per the guidelines of the International Cricket Council.

PCB chief executive Wasim Khan said that apparently for the next three months, the Pakistan cricket team will have to stay in biosecure arrangements while the players will have the option to withdraw from the tour.

 He said that details regarding security measures would be provided to the players in the coming weeks as well.

It may be recalled that the Pakistan cricket team is scheduled to tour England in July-August and the first Test will be played on July 30, but in the case of Code 19, there is a possibility of a change in the schedule of the series which is expected to be announced soon.

During the tour, 3 Test matches and 3 T20 matches are scheduled between the two teams.
